After reading many articles on Detox and cleanses, I was really intrigued and nobody could answer my questions. I wanted to know what would be the benefits for my body, skin, hair and possibly mind … So I decided to concoct my own Detox: 3 days of no meat or fish, no refined products, no sugar, no chocolate and especially 3 days of no coke zero (my little addiction). I adapted my diet to fit my lifestyle as I felt I was not able to absorb only juice, and so I decided to add raw fruits and vegetables.
May 5th: It’s so refreshing to tell myself that I’m going to clean my body of all the chemicals that big brands flood us with. I’ll purify my insides and maybe even my mind! I am very excited and take it very seriously … At breakfast, a large fresh fruit juice: orange, carrot, ginger, and a banana and green tea. It goes down well, it’s my routine. Since I do not want to change my habits, 45 minutes of intensive running…
At lunch I am sooo good! A fresh juice: cucumber, kale (very trendy!), carrot and I end up adding an avocado and some raspberries. I know it’s good for me, I’m proud of myself!
Things get tough at tea time! Yes I’m a big kid and yes I still have snacks … well not today! Result: some almonds and a large green tea!
At dinnertime it is not so easy, everyone dines on a classic meal and I’m still with just a juice again! And half a banana with another green tea … And off to bed early.
Oh I also forgot to mention that I swallowed all these natural products with plenty of water and no coke zero! Result, the first day I feel good and I’m so proud of myself, no industrial or animal products have passed my lips!
May 6th: No sports today, I’m gentle with my body, same breakfast, very busy all morning I have no time to feel sorry for myself! At lunchtime a quinoa salad, which is great because I love it so no frustrations! It is still at 5:00pm that it becomes critical, I recall my new best friends almonds to the rescue! Well at this point I must say that I feel very tired! At dinner my family eats cute potatoes with thyme, olive oil with roast chicken and for me a huge green juice with zucchini, peppers, kale, carrot and turnip! Sublime dinner with the addition of a few slices of pineapple and raspberries! In my bed, my stomach gurgles but I sleep like a baby before 10 pm!
May 7th: Today I don’t slack off, return to sports : running for 45 minutes. And I’m still tired! Ok we are in Miami, it is already 28 degrees and the humidity is close to 80 % ! It does not help but still … Before running I drank a large carrot juice, orange, ginger along with a few slices of watermelon and with tea of course! And then afterwards a huge fresh orange juice *. Preparing a paddle board photo shoot I was super busy until 3pm. While Colleen delighted in a California roll, I swallowed an avocado and a mango/banana juice. The tension is back at 5pm but I stave off the hunger with a large tea without almonds! Then at dinner my last juice: kale, carrot, red pepper, tomato, chives, so delicious! And above all of that 3 mini vegetable dumplings! I’ll admit, as it’s the last night I grant myself a small square of dark chocolate!
And now it’s OVER! **
Checklist:
Weight: -2.5 lbs, top top top!
Skin: still soft and pretty, no just kidding! I do not see any noticeable change since I’ve been using a new cleanser anyway called “Calcium Liniment” based on olive oil and calcium that I ordered online at “Wellness Cafe ‘, that’s made a difference in my skin, I love it!

Hair: Again, I can’t quantify the change because I had cut my hair three weeks ago. My hair is super soft and beautiful. In addition, I changed my hair routine for a single product also available at Wellness Cafe called “Purely Perfect cleansing cream”. Pure happiness I no longer need conditioner and my hair smell like freshly cut grass!

Spirit: despite a fatigue that may be stronger then usual, I have a super positive attitude and I envision a life full of sunshine! Mostly I have the feeling I did my body a good deed that negates my misbehavior for so many years! It’s my way to tell my body how much I love it and I care about it!
So who’s next? ***
* I was already very into a “fruit only” breakfast but this experience has re-enforced my desire… So it’s fruits and fruits again in the mornings to which I add possibly but not always a glass of Kefir and a slice of whole-grain bread.
** Day +1 I must admit to some small stomach problems….
*** I am very proud to have tried this experiment for you – finally the truth about a home Detox – for me – I managed my coke zero addiction – and all without any real frustrations!!

Good job! I want to try it myself. I hope I will survie. 🙂 Was it hard for you?
Hello CoolAllure!
No it wasn’t so hard because I was motivated and I love fruits and it was only 3 days…

I love how you created a program based around your lifestyle…I think that’s what made it so do-able. My last cleanse was juice only…and it wasn’t easy. Perhaps I’ll try to concoct my own detox next time.

Next time I will do only juices if you have some tips…
