It’s fashion week in Paris!!
Here I am back in Paris, my home sweet home!
Today I was taking a leisurely walk after a quick stop at Laduree for my favorite macaron(s), licorice (reglisse) and the newest flavor simply named “Marie Antoinette”, a mix of rose petals, citrus and honey, in case it might be even better than licorice….
yes I have a sweet tooth!!!
So I was having a little walk in the streets that I love, Faubourg Saint Honore, my favorite shopping haunts; Hermes, Maje, Colette, Goyard… I love this neighborhood, so Parisian and cosmopolitan: tourists, chic BCBG Parisians, fashionistas of all types, a sweet mix! Being fashion week you can imagine the buzz.
Speaking of buzz,as I was approaching the Mandarin Oriental, I noticed a huge crowd in front of the hotel. Excitement was at it’s height, a frenzied crowd of young people waiting, no point in asking who we might see since the murmur of her name can already be heard: Rihanna is expected at any minute… Woohoo! Cool, if I could glimpse the sweet face of Ms Barbados after having lunched in the company of Queen B and Mr Carter himself in Miami a few weeks ago…( but that’s another story that I must tell another time..) that would be the summit of cool! BUT, in typical star fashion Riri is late and Paris is waiting for me!
A little photo to share with you the excitement and I’m on my way…
I continue my walk and not far from there, another mass of excited youth, cars honking and the blasé looks of shop owners!! It’s true, they’ve seen so many stars in the area they are no longer excited…
So the “it” store Colette has been closed to the public so Drake can do his shopping!!! It’s true, locked doors, body guards, extra service staff, the works! The fans are desperate, how can they approach their favorite rapper??!! The shopkeepers are indifferent and the drivers enraged! That’s Paris!
It’s true a Canadian rapper is not out of the ordinary for a real Parisian! This often foulmouthed, unusual star doesn’t lose a beat, looking completely at ease and totally detached from the crazed crowd outside!! In true Parisian style…
And there you have it, a little “Billet d’humour” live from Paris…
Aw too bad you didn’t see RiRi but you’re right, Paris is too enchanting to sit in one place for too long 🙂 If you love macarons, you should definitely try macarons by Pierre Herme – they are the BEST imo!!

Hey Sher,
Seems that Riri spent the entire week in Paris…. Yeah I love Herme but I’m so addicted to Laduree’s packaging !!! It’s so old fashion and cute!
