So we are always talking about Mother’s Day, how widely celebrated it has always been, filled with laughter and joy, gifts and hope. Well today dear readers, I have chosen to write about our cherished partners, husbands or lovers! Let’s face it we must give them some attention once in a while. For this reason I have decided to spoil them and bring them tips, and this with great pleasure… let’s give them a makeover…
Here we go:
To start off this makeover I would like to discuss one particular thing that I hold dear to my heart: hands. Why not a little manicure! Of course we can always rely on a facial, just to clear out the stress and tightened skin from the hard work inflicted on them all week long: shortened nights, not cutting back on sugar and carbs…, possible cigarette breaks, evenings filled with various cocktails… The idea would be to find in our man the skin and face of not really a baby but that of a happy and rested partner. So long scruff! Colleen recommended some nice creams for such a thing (see here)

Now let’s skip to the tough subject that is style, say your goodbyes to shapeless and baggy sweatpants, and say hello to neon and bold colored Bermudas! Goodbye to those pants that leave baggy knees, who are far too big for their owner or who come in sad colors. Have your man wear skinny jeans or at least pants that are a little more adjusted, tight at the bottom, with flashy or light colors. I would opt for a light pink or even neon pink, a dark blue or bright green, and why not even purple! One must know that slim pants refine a silhouette. Of course this is not something to be done unless your partner is in good shape. If that’s not the case, one week at the gym, running or doing yoga would be recommended.
Let us now discuss shirts and even t-shirts. Once again I would recommend something fit and slim, not too loose yet not too tight. A white shirt can always come in handy for a special occasion or just a simple day. Also opt for a V neck which can always be useful.
Last but not least shoes. There are things that cannot be simply done or bought and shoes are something to be very selective about. Buy your husband a fancy pair of sneakers, maybe even check out the selection at JCrew for man, which is very nice. Also, it is always good to own a pair of leather moccasins and finally a nice pair of dress shoes with laces, which will be the finishing touch of the outfit.

That was the bare minimum for a classy man. Of course I didn’t mention underwear… I will let your imagination run wild …
And now for the final touch: accessories, at the end of the day it’s the same for men and women, accessories are always the cherry on the cake, the key to the perfect outfit. Our men who surely don’t wear jewelry(?!) can make up for it by wearing a classy and fancy watch and I am not only talking about Rolex’s or Panerai. It can also be a vintage piece, or a watch made for sports, only the strap must be perfect!

Oh yes and of course TEETH… one word: IMPECCABLE! Maybe even schedule an appointment at the dentist while you’re at it…
Lastly what will make the full difference is the attitude, the courtesy and ways of expressing himself, his humor and manners. Such a thing will seem to suggest that a man must be taught like a child…
And since our men have been very kind during this makeover session, I suggest a full massage “deep tissue*” which will be the cherry on the cake just to prove our love and gratitude! I know one man who will be happy…
