It’s March already and we are ready for Spring! This time of year is the perfect weather in Miami as it is warm but the humidity hasn’t kicked in yet so it ‘s extremely pleasant. It’s the best time of year for a hot weather getaway. Miami for Spring break anyone?
I have been thinking about how to take your day makeup quickly to an evening out using just a few products. If you are on a getaway vacation, you want to take your beach day look to evening without a lot of fuss. For this look that I created on a recent photo shoot, I had previously done the makeup to be very natural and because we were short on time ( it’s always rush, rush, rush on photoshoots) I had to quickly give model Briley a look worthy of this gorgeous sequin dress she’s wearing. Using only an eyeliner, a lipstick and a bit more blush, I accentuated her eyes to give her a more rock’n’roll edge to her look as the dress had this cool black stripe down the sides making it less mermaid and more modern.

EYES: Using Charlotte Tilbury’s Rock ‘n’ Khol eyeliner pencil in Barbarella Brown, I lined all around her eyes concentrating the line more underneath the eye and bringing it from under the eye to the outer corner and winging it out. I used a smudge brush to soften the line and then used the same pencil to line the waterline. I then added more mascara to make it more dramatic. I really like this shade of eyeliner as it’s almost black with just a hint of a coffee brown which makes it softer. Riley already had some neutral eyeshadow on from a previous look, but you could keep the lids bare.
LIPS: I gave Briley a soft sensual lip using lipstick in a soft coral shade, without any liner to give it a natural lived in look. For this photo I used a combination of NARS Honolulu Honey lipstick and REVLON’s Juicy Papaya lip butter but you could also use Charlotte Tilbury’s Coachella Coral kissing lipstick or NARS satin lip pencil in Timanfaya.
CHEEKS: I added some Filmstar Bronze & Glow from Charlotte Tilbury to accentuate her cheekbones.
FACE: I like that we can see her skin and her freckles so even though I used a very light foundation here, I think this is a look that should be done with either bare skin if you want or just a tinted moisturizer or BB cream if you want to even out your skin tone. It’s perfect to show off a tan. All the focus is on the smoking hot eyes.
