It may be the dead of winter but that doesn’t mean your makeup needs to be layered on like your clothes! A soft, feminine and pretty makeup will bring out your best paired with warm, fuzzy sweaters especially in the soft pink so popular this season.
For this look I wanted the natural beauty of model Dolci to shine through and so I kept the color palette soft and neutral. Her pale winter skin is luminous with just a touch of foundation and pinpoint concealer. Start with a well moisturized skin and a moisturizing primer to ward against the dry winter air.
Get the look:
For a soft natural look, I look for an eyeshadow that is a couple of shades darker than the skin tone. In this case I used Clinique chubby stick in Ample Amber as an all over wash on the lid. It has bit of a peach tone to it but that works with her pale skin. For medium skin look for a cocoa shade with a slight bit of shimmer and for darker skin a deep chocolate and even a deep taupe will look natural. For this photo I used a slightly darker cocoa shade (Bobbi Brown in Taupe) on the outer corner to enhance the eye shape. Line the eyes subtly using a gel liner in dark brown (Bobbi Brown gel liner in Espresso Ink) if you are fair or black if you have medium or dark skin tones. Get as close to the lashes as possible and don’t extend past the outer corners as this is just an enhancement not a cat eye. Curl the lashes and follow with mascara.
Soft peachy pink tones add a touch of natural color to the skin. For this photo I used Makeup For Ever HD cream blush in 225 a soft peachy pink that makes skin look lit from within. For darker skin go a shade deeper or brighter. Although this shade seems to work well on many skin tones. You can add a small amount of bronzer if you want to sculpt your cheeks.
For Dolci I lined her lips and filled them in with this fantastic nude lip liner from Boots no.7; it’s a favorite of mine. Then for softness and dimension I topped with Dior addict lip gloss in Angelique.
