Lover.ly X Blush and Beyond

Blush and Beyond has teamed up with Lover.ly to offer you a bridal beauty look inspired by this gorgeous Oscar de la Renta wedding gown.

It is apt that I am writing this post today as I just came back from creating a hair and makeup look for a lovely bride who is getting married right now, as I write! Congratulations Zeysha!

Of all the swoon worthy dresses that Lover.ly offers, I was particularly attracted to this classic and elegant look by Oscar de la Renta, an incredible designer who sadly recently passed away but not before creating a beautiful gown for Amal Alamuddin’s fairy tale wedding to Goerge Clooney. (Yes, Mr .Clooney is now taken, sigh…)

This elegant, formfitting gown with delicate lace revealing skin underneath calls for a classic yet sensual beauty look. The strong shape of the dress paired with the delicate lace creates a style that is both feminine and sexy. This is a timeless makeup look with softly defined eyes, defined brows, a perfected complexion, soft pink cheeks and a pink/brown semi matte lipstick. The makeup compliments the dress by defining the features yet allowing for femininity and sensuality to shine through. With a neutral palette, the bride’s own beauty is enhanced without competing for attention with this stunning gown.

Armani’s luminous silk foundation creates a flawless base and tends to be long wearing; it’s a favorite of mine for bridal beauty. Cover any imperfections with Laura Mercier’s secret camouflage concealer.

Define the eyes with a palette like Tom Ford’s Orchid Haze using the pink shade all over the lid, the dark plum along the lash line and on the outer corners and the pale shade under the arch of the brow and on the inner corner of the eyes. Place a touch of the gold on the center of the lids. Define the lash line further with a liquid liner like this fav of mine by Eyeko.

Of course waterproof mascara is a must and if you love lashes add about 6 individual flares in a mix of medium and short from Ardell. Fill in and define the brows softly.

A soft pink cheek for the blushing bride like this one from Bobbi brown and a pinky brown lipstick shade like Dolce Vita from Nars completes the look.

Show off this gorgeous neckline with hair up in a braided chignon.

Finish the look with a very modern bouquet in monochromatic whites and greens.
