Sometimes I want a little more color than a lip balm but I don’t want to wear a full lipstick. Something that I can have in my purse, can quickly swipe on without a mirror but still makes me look like I have a bit of color. (a bit of color can help enliven a tired face) Lately I have been loving all these great new formulas of tinted moisturizing lip balms. As you may have read before, I’m completely addicted to lip balm which puts me in perpetual need for lip moisture.

These new formulas come in easy to use crayon shapes, (I mean really we learned to use crayons back in kindergarden) and deliver a hint of color along with mango and shea butters to hydrate the lips. They are perfect for summer when the humidity soars and all you want is a tan, some mascara and hint of a lip.

The Shades

1) Baby Lips Dr. Rescue in Pink Me Up may not be a crayon but is a handbag staple. It is super moisturizing and the new formula includes menthol for a soothing and tingling feeling. This is a barely there color, or like the name suggests, baby lips.

2) Burts Bees  Lip Crayon in Niagara Overlook is not as moisturizing as their tinted lip balms, which I love, but the color pay off is great, it goes on smoothly has a matte finish and is 100% natural.

3) Clinique Chubby Stick Baby Tint in coming up Rosy (my favorite) feels very moisturizing and the tint adapts to your coloring depending on the pH of your lips. On me it is quite pink but still sheer.

4) Neutrogena MoistureSmoooth color stick in Sweet Watermelon smells of sweet strawberry , hydrates and leaves a pink shade with a hint of silver.

5) Dior Lip Glow  Color Reviver Balm in Pink Glow is another universal lip tint that reacts with the chemistry of your lips to reveal your own unique color. It’s enriched with Shea and mango butters to hydrate. It also comes in a peach shade.
