Perhaps you’ve heard of K-Pop, the newest sensation of Korean pop stars, (and not just PSY and his Gangnam style!) but I think there’s a new sensation worth talking about; K-Beauty! The beauty products coming out of Korea are innovative and of high quality, enough to put them at the forefront of the International beauty scene.
Recently on a trip to Vancouver I met up with my friend who lives in Hong Kong and she was kind enough to bring me some beauty booty from the Faces Shop, a popular Korean brand. While I am familiar with BB and CC creams, the two products I received were quite innovative in their application.
The Smart Capsule Color Control (CC) Cream comes out of the pump completely white! When it comes in contact with the warmth of your skin it manages to blend seamlessly leaving you with a moisturized and even complexion. According to the company the smart tone technology uses three different colors, yellow, black and red, that blend together giving you the optimal color for your skin tone. It also contains Blood Orange extract that has brightening properties and SPF 40. Now that’s serious skin care and it’s fun!
To remove my CC cream at the end of the day, I have the One-Step BB cleanser.This product takes an oil cleanser to a new dimension. It comes out as an oil which you massage into your skin first to remove makeup and then with the addition of a bit of water becomes a foam which thoroughly cleanses the skin. It’s formulated with Argan oil and 12 herbal extracts which leave the skin clean and supple, no tight feeling at all.
Looks like a trip to Asia is in order… I am sure there are some makeup products I need to investigate. Maybe an eyeliner that upon contact with the skin instantly morphs into the perfect smokey eye…. but then my job as a makeup artist might be redundant!
