I wanted to share with you a little behind the scenes secret that makeup artists use to make the skin on the model’s bodies look so healthy and glowing. Prom season is here and summer is right around the corner with events and parties and giving thought to the skin on your body ( which may not have seen the sun in months) some attention and care can really make a difference. Look at the photos from the red carpet and you can see that the “star quality” of the legs and shoulders and décolleté is that the skin is even and glowy.
Start by exfoliating in the shower. I like scrubs with sugar and some moisturizer like Bliss sugar body scrub. Make sure to moisturizer while your skin is still damp. On a photo shoot I will start by moisturizing the body with a rich moisturizer like one from CeraVe. When that has soaked in then I will mix a luminizer like Revlon’s skin lights with more moisturizer and finally to really make the limbs glow, the secret is that I’ll use the Olive oil sheen spray from the drug store ( I know it says it’s a hair product!) to spray evenly over top. This product is so easy to use with a very fine spray. It gives such a great sheen to the body.
If you’re going to be outside during the day for an event, make sure to apply sunscreen before anything else! Since you are basically applying olive oil to your skin! ( no roasting allowed!)
Of course if your skin is looking pasty white from the long summer months, apply a self tanner the night before to even out the skin tone .
Sometimes the strangest products make it into our pro kits! A $5 olive oil hair spray to create a star quality glow- who would’ve thought?!
