Leibster Award

I have been nominated for a Leibster award from the lovely blog Ladies and Croissants.

The Leibster award is actually a way to discover new blogs through other bloggers. Once you are nominated for the award you can then nominate another blog and so on, like a chain of bloggers. It’s a fun way to get to know the authors behind the blogs you read and to discover new ones. You have to answer the 11 questions asked by the blogger who nominated you, write 11 random facts about yourself and nominate blogs you enjoy. The bloggers that you nominate have to then answer the 11 questions you have for them and so on.

1. Favorite fictive character?

Milou (Snowy) from Tintin.

2. Your secret passion?

Photography! I fantasize about being a professional photographer for National Geographic.

3. Your therapy against depression?

That’s an easy one, running! Once you have released all those endorphins during a run, you always feel more positive.

4. Your best beauty advice?

That’s a tough one to narrow down, I’ve written a whole blog of beauty advice! The best advice I can offer is to feel confident about yourself and your own unique beauty.

5. Ideally, in which country would you like to live?

Canada, but not during the winter.

6. The 3 books you would recommend to a stranger?

9. How did you find your blog’s name?

I was looking for a name that encompassed more than just makeup and I wanted blush in the name. I played around with many different versions but Blush and Beyond felt the most natural.

10. Why do you blog?

I was always giving beauty advice to my friends, and one of them suggested I blog about it. I like to share my beauty finds and advice, in the hopes that it helps others feel good about themselves.

11. Coffee or tea?

Tea. I have teas from all over the world, I’m a bit obsessed.

11 Random things about me

1. I’m fearful of flying but I love to travel. Travel usually wins!

2. I’m a bit of a science geek and I like to read the ingredient labels on cosmetics and research their function.

3. I love Japan and would like to live there for a year or two.

4. I have two cats who are very spoiled and a bit fat.

5. As much as I love makeup, I don’t wear much on a daily basis. I prefer making up others.

6. I’m very messy, but I still know where everything is. An organized mess.

7. I love men with accents! (My husband is French)

8. Chocolate doesn’t count as dessert, right? That’s what I tell myself.

9. Cooking Asian food is one of my passions.

10. I still can’t take a proper selfie, and I wish that trend would disappear.

11. Tea time is anytime for me.
