I wanted it as soon as I heard about it! Awake at 3 am, midnight in Copertino, I placed my order, and then waited 2 months… it is finally on my wrist and I propose a little “What I like/don’t like about the Apple Watch!!
First impression, as we have become accustomed from Apple, the packaging is simple, streamlined as is the watch itself. Pure, sleek lines and made from quality materials. I chose the sport option in black. For me the point of this purchase was to reinforce my sport tracking and to increase the data that I can access on my runs and other sport activities, all the while maintaining the feeling of belonging to the Apple hub!
To be honest, even if I am still in the learning stage since I haven’t necessarily learned all the tips and all the functions my little toy possesses, (I hate to admit it!)- I have to admit I have mixed feelings about this new device.
What I like or even love:
– Siri, your best friend who calls your contacts for you from your watch, finds the address of a store in a quarter of a second. Ok, it’s true that you look like Spock from spaceship Enterprise talking into your wrist! ( if your from my generation you know what I’m talking about). It is though super practical if you happen to be driving or need to do some multitasking! I don’t like on the other hand that the Siri in question is incapable of understanding my French accent even though it is barely there after 11 years in the US! I am not about to switch to the French version of the watch, I mean really!
I love that Siri obeys my commands…well not always!
I love that when my iPhone rings I can answer from my watch without having to dig around for my phone in my purse.
I love that at any moment of the day I can consult my daily calories burned or my sport performance, even if some improvements can be made to these functions….I am making my own virtual awards!
I love that I can measure my heart rate during my runs and just with a quick glance at my watch and without having to wear that annoying chest strap that I had finally given up wearing!
I hate more than anything that my calories burned according to my Apple watch are not the same as according to my Runtastic app!!! Which one is more accurate? What should I do? Who can help me out?? I’m stressed about this one!!
I love checking my emails or my texts from my wrist in the middle of the night if it moves me to do so… no more sleeping with my iPhone that lights up and blinds me when I turn it on.
I love the design of my new watch and to be able at a glance know at what time the sun will rise or set, how much battery remains, my sport activity for the day and even just what time it is!
I hate having to recharge my Apple Watch every 24 hours! A real problem if you ask me.
I love that I can see my favorite apps on the watch and accessible with a simple tap of my finger.
I love to cover the screen of my watch so that it goes automatically into sleep mode or take screenshots by pressing the 2 buttons at the same time. Very useful!
It is fantastic that I can get updates day or night on my wrist just by raising it up towards my eyes!
I am a fan of the emoticons available on the Apple Watch.
And finally, I really love that I can order my lunch from my watch!
I am disappointed that I can’t find a function that is capable of measuring the quality of my sleep!
To the attention of those geniuses of Copertino; could you upgrade the watch so that it functions completely by voice command??
PS: And could you work on the accent recognition?!!!
And you, does the Apple Watch tempt you? Do you already have one?
