A french girl’s fashion survival manual

I don’t know about you but every year at this time of the year I am stuck in front of my closet with NO ideas at all! And worst of all it’s not just when I’m going to work but also on weekends! My inspiration just went away! Packed it’s bags and went on vacation! And it is not a question of temperature because living in Miami for almost 10 years, I don’t know what cold weather dressing is anymore… So what’s going on? How to get rid of this style dilemma …

There are several techniques – try on your entire closet the day before and prepare your outfit, or take some notes in a specific notebook (Oh again a notebook …), create a mood board – that’s sounds more pro! – Or start a collection of selfies – so trendy apparently! I have personally tried all these methods. Yes! See what I would do for you … well to be honest its for me just to feel good in my clothes for the day! Now when I am out of “style options”, I opt for the latest purchase or for the fetish dud that I wear when my legendary punch has abandoned me and in which I feel confident and that will protect me all the day … You know what I mean I guess … And … I accessorize like crazy!

So when I’m deep down at the bottom of my own stylistic confidence and my ideas are  on vacation … I play my accessories card. Clothes go out of fashion after one season while a good accessory shines and illuminates an outfit for years to come!

Here is my accessory Mood-board for a stylistic pump-up …

~ my Italia Independent sunglasses that I customized into glasses, purple flashy, one may like or dislike but it doesn’t leave anyone indifferent … especially not me – so, I bought 2 extra pairs…

~ my little pins (heart/bottle of champ./mustache/skull …) that cling everywhere and illuminate my days. My skull ring that I love and my “Chaine d’encre” – not the common one of course – I love even more and to finish with jewelry my latest treasure; a rose gold handcuff bracelet from Miansai, I totally fell for it.

~ my hand cream Weleda and my plumping lip Balm from Dior “Crème de Rose” – I know they’re not accessories but these are my 2 security blankets that I can’t go out without!

~ Then I reworked a “lock”  and “Riding jaws” from Hermes into necklaces! ok I know I’m a bit crazy but I can tell you that it’s very nice to wear and divert the eye away from the rest of my outfit, so mission accomplished!

~ Last finishing touch that is not really an accessory but that is much more than that for me … my perfumes: “Patouchli” from Reminiscence or “Shalimar Parfum Initial” from Guerlain.

And then I feel perfect for a day at my top!
